We are pleased to announce that Molly Betournay has recently joined the Clean Yield team as our Social Research and Advocacy Director. Molly will be leading the charge on our efforts to tame corporate beasts using her powers of sustainability research and shareholder advocacy. She will also take the lead on making sure that we at Clean Yield continue to raise the bar on our own environmental and social practices by championing our longstanding B Corp commitment.
While new to Clean Yield, Molly is not new to the world of social and environmental investing. Molly has spent her career working in various facets of the sustainable and responsible investing industry (SRI). She has deep experience analyzing corporate environmental and social practices through her work at Pax World Management Corp and EIRIS. She also brings a keen understanding of best practices in SRI gained through her time spent performing due diligence on SRI strategies at Pathstone Federal Street.
“Molly will be building on Clean Yield’s legacy and continuing to strengthen our commitment to clients and investments that move us toward a more just and sustainable society,” said Elizabeth Glenshaw, Managing Director of Clean Yield Asset Management. “Now, more than ever, our communities and our planet require someone with Molly’s skills and experience to make a positive difference in the world.”
Molly will be filling the position left by Shelley Alpern who recently departed Clean Yield to join Ceres, a nonprofit aimed at transforming the economy to build a sustainable future. In her new post, Shelley will continue to push for increased corporate sustainability by promoting improved corporate ESG disclosure standards. While we will miss her humor, her smarts, and general superhero skills, we look forward to continued collaboration between Ceres and Clean Yield and wish Shelley all the best in her new role.
